Team Academia raises over £300 at Macmillan Coffee Morning

6 Oct 2026

There are few things Team Academia enjoys more than coffee, cake and a bit of healthy competition, so this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning was the perfect excuse to bring all three together.

On 30th September, our Hemel office was packed with homemade bakes as colleagues rolled up their sleeves for an Academia Bake Off in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. From impressive showstoppers to family-favourite recipes, the standard was high, the judging was serious and the temptation to go back for a second slice was even higher.

While there were plenty of cakes to enjoy, the real focus was supporting a cause that has touched the lives of so many people. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues across the business, we’re proud to have raised more than £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist medical care, information and financial and emotional support to people affected by cancer, helping patients and their families from diagnosis onwards.

Every slice bought, bake entered and donation made will help Macmillan continue providing practical, emotional and financial support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.

A huge thank you to everyone who got involved, whether you spent hours perfecting your bake, sampled the competition or simply stopped by to make a donation.

A brilliant day, a fantastic cause and over £300 raised. Not a bad result for a coffee morning.
