Academia named Rank 1 Supplier across key lots of the SUPC Software Licences Reseller & Consulting Services Framework for UK Higher Education

24 Mar 2026

Academia has been named a Rank 1 direct award supplier across key lots on the Southern Universities Procurement Consortium (SUPC) Software Licences Reseller & Consulting Services Agreement (SLRA), providing universities with a compliant route to procure and direct award software licensing and associated services.

Through the agreement, Academia will support higher education institutions with software licensing expertise, procurement efficiency and strategic advisory services designed to help universities maximise the value of their technology investments.

Universities are navigating an increasingly complex technology landscape, balancing financial pressures with the need to deliver modern digital experiences for students, researchers and staff.

By providing specialist licensing expertise alongside strategic advisory services, Academia helps institutions simplify procurement while ensuring they can access the technology and support needed to drive innovation across teaching, research and campus operations.

Two of the most significant areas addressed within the framework are cloud readiness and cyber security.

Cloud Readiness Services

Introducing a new dedicated lot for cloud readiness and infrastructure optimisation services aimed at helping universities assess their cloud strategy, understand existing infrastructure, and rationalise technology investment. With many institutions adopting multi‑cloud environments, managing cost, governance and architectural complexity has become a major priority.

These services support universities to evaluate their current infrastructure, identify optimisation opportunities and design scalable, resilient cloud environments aligned to long‑term digital strategies.

Cyber Security Services

The framework also introduces a new lot for cyber security assessment and associated services. Universities remain attractive targets for cyber threats due to the scale of research data, intellectual property, and personal information they manage.

Through structured security assessments and strategic advisory services, Academia and its specialist partners help institutions evaluate risk exposure, strengthen governance, and implement robust security frameworks that support long‑term resilience.

Luke HoldcroftYoung, Sales Director at Academia, said:

“We are delighted to be recognised as a Rank 1 supplier across key lots on the SUPC Software Licences Resellers Agreement. This recognition reflects our commitment to the higher education sector and the trust universities place in Academia as a strategic partner.

While software licensing remains a key pillar of our business, we are increasingly supporting universities with broader technology solutions and services, particularly in areas such as cloud readiness/migration and cybersecurity. These are critical priorities for institutions looking to optimise their digital estates and being recognised as the Rank 1 supplier across these lots reflects the value of our services we have brought to market”.

Our team will be exhibiting at the LUPC & SUPC Conference on the 25th March 2026 where you will have a chance to meet the team and discuss the framework firsthand.
