Academia is delighted to join forces with Wycombe Wanderers who have recently launched their own learning channel in partnership with Wycombe Wanderers Foundation, using the numbers and data from around the football club.
The online maths lessons are for learners at Key Stage Two level and also provide some behind the scenes content from the Chairboys. They are free to access on the club website and include insights from the gym at the training ground, on the team bus ahead of an away trip, and on the pitch at Adams Park.
The scheme was devised by the club’s Head of Audio and Broadcast Phil Catchpole, who was inspired by his own experiences of being at school:
“I hated maths when I was at school and really struggled with it,” he said. “Fortunately for me I had a teacher who made maths relevent to my own passions and as a result I was able to boost my confidence with numbers and go onto achieve a grade C at GCSE. Maths is everywhere and it’s been great fun to put these lessons together.”
