Academia reports record growth as it unveils its highlights for FY23

Hemel Hempstead, 30th October 2023Academia, a leading provider of IT services and solutions to education, business and public sector since 2003 reports record results FY23.

The company has seen 22% growth, increasing its revenue to £130m+ FY23 for the tenth year in succession, leaving it well positioned going into FY24 as the IT services and solutions provider of trust for education, business and public sector in the UK.

Highlights:

  • Total revenues hit £130m+ FY23, an increase of 22% from the previous year
  • Mark McCormack promoted from Chief Commercial Officer to Managing Director
  • Announcement of three heavyweight appointments to grow its technical services, managed services and expansion into the commercial sector
  • Increased headcount by 30% following a successful recruitment drive
  • Awarded 6 x lots for the first time on the CCS TePAS 2 framework
  • Expected double-digit growth FY24 with further M&A’s anticipated

 

Academia charges into FY24 with a Q1 performance that not only met but exceeded financial targets, setting the stage for an exceptionally promising year ahead.

Academia unveils three new hires to drive its expansion

The appointment of Peter Heath as Technical Operations Director strengthens Academia’s technical services capabilities.  With more than 35 years in IT, including over 15 years’ leadership experience with the Westcoast Group, Peter remarked: “I’m thrilled to have joined Academia at this critical chapter in their growth. I look forward to re-modelling and scaling the technical services operations in order to continue to deliver exceptional technical services, solutions and managed services, further cementing our already solid reputation within Academia’s customer base.”

Reinforcing Academia’s strong expansion plans in the business sector, the firm welcomes onboard Trevor Nickolls as Sales Director, Commercial. Previously holding the role of Sales Director for both Computacenter and Storm Technologies, Trevor brings valuable experience to the leadership team. Trevor commented: “I’ve joined with a team of 17 ambitious sales professionals eager to strengthen client relationships through Academia’s strong portfolio of cutting-edge solutions and managed services. I’m excited to see the team flourish, giving our customers the best experience and access to the best technology, pricing and support.”

Joining as Head of Technical Services is Kris Bunting, a seasoned IT commercial leader, with over 20 years’ experience driving growth at IT resellers such as Redstone, Jigsaw24 and more recently with global software provider Jamf. Kris said: “This is an exciting time for Academia and I’m thrilled to be able to shape the future of our technical services, solutions and managed services as we expand our offerings to meet the growing demands of our customers.”
