With the move from tape to tapeless, HD to 4K and beyond, the storage requirements of a days filming has grown exponentially.
The latest SSD records combine high capacity for hours of footage; with in-built 4K HDR displays and waveform monitors/scopes and simplified ingest due to native ProRes or DNxHD recording. Rackmount records can be deployed in the studio gallery or in flight cases at events; supporting fall-over “tick/tock” modes for continuous record.
